Dacelo is the genus that our tree Kingfisher, the Kookaburra is native to and this piece was designed with the handful of Kookaburra feathers I was gifted, in mind. I adore the fact that people send feathers from far and wide; the feature Macaw feather comes from Coonamble, NSW and the Kookaburra feathers from Broome. My joy of course, is bringing the creation together. Cleaning and preening each feather is the beginning so you can understand why I'm attached to each piece of worn art by the time it's showcased, ready for sale.
